Dr. Juan Carlos Parodi is a member of San Francisco Science's Scientific Advisory Board, the Chair of ArteriA's Scientific Advisory Board and an Executive Advisor to SFS' Managing Director. Dr. Parodi is an internationally recognized vascular surgeon, and a pioneer in the area of endovascular surgery. His endovascular graft concept has revolutionized the treatment of vascular disease.
Dr. Parodi is Chief of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Instituto Cardiovascular de Buenos Aires and Vice Director of the Post-Graduate Training Program in Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Buenos Aires. In September 2000 he became Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at Wayne State University. From 1977 to 1986 he was the Chief of Vascular Surgery at Hospital Castex in Buenos Aires.
After receiving his medical degree and initial residency training in Argentina, Dr. Parodi completed his post-doctoral training as Chief Resident in the Department of Vascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Parodi is board certified in vascular surgery and medicine in both Argentina and the United States. He is the recipient of numerous distinctions, including the Jacobson Innovation Award in 1998 administered by the Honors Committee of the American College of Surgeons and the 2000 Award for Excellence in Endovascular Surgery from the International Society of Endovascular Specialists (ISES).
